1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing watt2buy.org (or any subdomain/successor) you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms take effect on the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and supersede any earlier version.

2. What Watt2Buy is (and isn’t)

Watt2Buy is a free, informational calculator that helps Indian consumers compare Electric, Petrol, Diesel, CNG and Hybrid vehicles on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), lifecycle CO₂, financing and policy benefits. It is operated by Walawalkar Enterprise LLP (WE LLP) as a public initiative under NETRA’s Sustainable Mobility and C&I Decarbonization Councils.

Watt2Buy is not: a dealer, a broker, a financial advisor, an insurance advisor, a credit bureau, or a seller of any vehicle or financial product. We do not accept payment from users, we do not take orders, and we do not hold any inventory.

3. Accuracy & disclaimer

All numbers (fuel price, tariff, subsidies, resale, CO₂, EMI) are estimates based on publicly available data from PPAC, CEA, CEEW, IEA, OEM brochures, bank rate cards, and state DISCOM tariff orders at the time indicated. We update them monthly but you must verify at dealer / lender / RTO before committing to a purchase. A full limitation of liability is in our Disclaimer.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site without written permission (the public JSON trends/comparison APIs are rate-limited).
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code beyond what is openly published.
• Use the site to harass, impersonate or defame any OEM, dealer, lender or person.
• Submit false city-request or contact-form entries, or use /data-request to harass us or third parties.
• Introduce malware, run DDoS attacks, or attempt to compromise the analytics endpoint.
• Frame or white-label Watt2Buy on another commercial property without a written agreement.

5. Intellectual property

The Watt2Buy brand, calculator logic, scoring model (Watt2Buy Score™), lifecycle CO₂ engine, depreciation curves, and all written content are © 2026 Walawalkar Enterprise LLP. You may share screenshots and cite us with a link back, but you may not republish full pages or calculators without written permission.

Vehicle images are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under CC-BY / CC-BY-SA licences with full attribution — see our Attribution page. Vehicle names, model numbers and trim names are trademarks of their respective OEMs and are used under nominative fair use only to identify the products being compared.

6. Affiliate & outbound links

Some buttons (“Book test drive”, “Get best price”) may eventually link to dealer or OEM websites through an affiliate partnership. When we add those, we will disclose the relationship on the link itself and in this section. Watt2Buy will never recommend a vehicle because it pays us more — our ranking is driven purely by the TCO / CO₂ / Watt2Buy Score model disclosed in our Methodology.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WE LLP, NETRA, our officers, partners and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising out of your use of Watt2Buy — including but not limited to wrong vehicle choice, higher-than-expected running costs, resale shortfall, battery degradation, insurance claim rejection, or dealer negotiation outcomes. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the site.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold WE LLP harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the site, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

9. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Pune, Maharashtra. The DPDP Act 2023 and the rules notified thereunder apply in full.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be flagged with a banner at the top of the site for 30 days.
